paris vlog

Fi-na-lly, I know it took some time, but here it is; the Paris-in-24-hours vlog! Believe me, after spending the last couple of days intimately with Mister Moviemaker, I can definitely conclude that he is not my best friend, quite the contrary. At one point the program suddenly shut down and Judith and I nearly lost the whole video - Judith closely witnessed my frustration explosion which probably sounded like this; aaaaarrggrghhhhhh#!*#! But gladly that's over now, I have moved on, and I am happy to present you this vlog. To me, the video really sums up the beautiful short, yet powerful - kort maar krachtig as we say in Dutch - time Judith and I spent in Paris. You get to see a glimpse of my crazy side in this video, a side you perhaps don't get to see often on my blog. Enjoy! Love Aimee

metal magic

Living by Audrey Hepburn's wise words "Paris is always a good idea", Judith and I jumped at the chance and took over Paris for 24 hours. We had a lovely time strolling the old streets while secretly, yet not so secretly, observing the Parisian je ne sais pas quoi style and hot guys - or should we say, garçons. I had the chance to practice my six years of French high school lessons - which went surprisingly well, with of course an occasional mistake, but who cares? Lots of posts are coming up including a vlog and probably a haul, but what better way to start off my Paris posts than with the Eiffel Tower? Talk about a cliché! A wonderful cliché nonetheless. I am always surprised by the importance of the Eiffel Tower for France. It has had such an influence on Paris and has become the country's trade mark and symbol. Truth told, it ís an impressive structure, but it is also just a building. At the time of construction in 1887 the Eiffel Tower was criticized and even now it isn't appreciated by most of the Parisians. However, tourists love it and I have to admit that even though I have seen the Eiffel Tower more than ten times at least, it never loses its charm and magic. Metal magic that is :)
